Pharmacies will pack medications based on the residents' charts in MediMap. When the new packs arrive, it’s important to make sure check they’re correct for patient safety, efficient care, and to maintain professional standards.
- Click on Search on the dashboard.
- Start typing the resident’s first or last name. You can also use their:
- Medicare or DVA number if you’re in Australia,
- NHI number if you’re in New Zealand.
- Click Search or press RETURN on your keyboard. MediMap lists the residents if it can find their chart.
- To cut down the number of residents to search through, click Filter Search List and select a facility area.
- Click the residents name or photo to show their chart.
- The chart shows the residents information and their charted meds. Packed meds show at the top of the chart.
- Scroll down to check and match each med and dose time to the chart.
- If you match everything correctly, click Pack checked in at the top of the chart.
MediMap records the check in date and time, and your name as having received the correct meds.
- If a pack isn’t correct, go to the Notes tab on the patient’s chart and click Add New Note:
- Select Packing Error, type the details, select to email the note to the pharmacy, and click Post,
- Return the meds pack to the pharmacy.
