Medication Administration
Go to the medication round that needs to be administered. Short course medications show with regular medications at the charted dose time, marked as SC.
Click the short course medication that needs to be administered.
- MediMap shows the short course medication for the prescribed days, and an additional 24 hours to account for any delivery delays from the pharmacy:
- Days Left shows the remaining days of the medication course. It begins counting down from the first dose actioned in MediMap
- Day 0 means the medication is in the final 24 hours of the course. You can use this time to catch up on any missed doses if required
- Once you have administered and record the last dose, click Comment and select Course Finished. MediMap will move the course to the stopped medication.
- A warning on the resident’s administration page indicates the course was charted over 48 hours ago, but there’s no record of it starting.
Check if the course is still active or finished but not properly recorded. For auditing purposes, you can't re-record information in MediMap, by noting what has happened and continue the course as usual.
