On the medication administration grid, residents that have patches charted as a regular medication will have a yellow PATCH tag next to their name. During a medication round users can record the patch as sighted in-line with organisational policies.
The resident's administration page will have yellow reminder banner above the medications if a patch is currently administered.
How to Sight a Patch
Click on the blue 'Sight Now' button.
A prompt will open, displaying the medication and key information, including the last recorded patch application, location, and sighting.
If the patch is observed on the resident, then select 'Sighted'. The box will close, and a record will be added to the medication history.
The sighting and administration history can be viewed by selecting the blue medication name.
- If the patch needs replacing out of cycle (i.e. it's fallen off before it's due to be replaced), select 'Replacement'.
Select whether the old patch needed removing.
- Select where the patch is being placed on the body using the letters and diagrams.
- Enter any comments.
- Select re-supply if needed.
- Select save.
